Facilities and Health & Safety Supervisor - North Dublin

Reed is assisting a client we have recruited for in the past once again in their search for a Facilities and Health & Safety Supervisor.

Facilities Management:

  • Supervise the maintenance and functionality of all company facilities, ensuring buildings, equipment, and systems are in good working order.
  • Coordinate and oversee building repairs, renovations, and general maintenance activities, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Manage relationships with external contractors and vendors for facility-related services, including maintenance, cleaning, security, and utilities.
  • Monitor and manage the company’s facilities budget, ensuring cost-effective procurement of materials and services.
  • Ensure that all facilities are clean, well-maintained, and compliant with all relevant regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify any areas requiring maintenance or improvement and take appropriate action.
  • Produce annual budget for facilities, reporting spend updates regularly to FD and MD.
  • Develop reporting tools to identify and track all Facility/ maintenance issues.

Health & Safety (H&S) Compliance:

  • Develop, implement, and manage the company’s health and safety policies, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and best practise
  • Conduct regular health and safety risk assessments and audits across our Site to identify hazards and implement corrective measures 
  • Ensure all employees receive proper health and safety training and are aware of their responsibilities regarding workplace safety
  • Investigate and report on any accidents, incidents, or near-misses, and ensure appropriate actions are taken to prevent recurrence
  • Maintain accurate health and safety records, including incident reports, inspection logs, and training documentation
  • Ensure the availability and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety equipment across all sites
  • Develop reporting tools to identify and track all H&S issues

Emergency Preparedness:

  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures and drills, fire safety protocols, and first aid provisions
  • Work with Executive Management Team on the creation, management and continuous updating on a “Disaster Recovery Plan” 
  • Ensure all emergency systems, such as fire alarms, extinguishers, and exit routes, are regularly inspected and maintained in working condition

Team Leadership:

  • Work with department managers to create an escalation and reporting process, providing guidance, and training
  • Foster a culture of safety awareness and compliance among all employees and contractors
  • Work closely with other departments, such as HR and Operations, to ensure seamless integration of safety and facility-related procedures
  • Work closely and collaborate with the H&S, Facilities stakeholders in the other business units - sharing policies, frameworks and practices

Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
3+ years of experience in facilities management and/or health & safety, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment
