Senior Statutory Accountant - Dublin 1

Reed is partnering once again with our fantastic client; long established and very successful in the Tech space. We are looking to recruit a Senior Statutory Accountant. You will be responsible for the EMEA region ensuring compliance with local statutory accounting and financial reporting requirements across multiple countries in the region. 

The role involves preparing statutory financial statements, coordinating audits, and liaising with external auditors, tax advisors, and local finance teams to ensure adherence to local regulations and IFRS standards. The position also plays a key role in the management of financial reporting timelines and ensuring the integrity of accounting data.

Duration: 10 Month FTC
Pay: €41.00 per hour @40 hours per week / paid weekly
WFH: 2 days’ work from home is offered

Key Responsibilities:

Statutory Reporting & Compliance:

  • Prepare and file statutory financial statements in accordance with local regulations, IFRS, and group accounting policies for multiple entities across the EMEA region.
  • Ensure timely submission of statutory filings (financial statements, tax returns, etc.) in compliance with local laws and deadlines.
  • Coordinate with local finance teams to gather necessary data for statutory reporting.
  • Manage the reconciliation of local books to group reporting standards (IFRS).
  • Ensure compliance with local tax and statutory reporting requirements across multiple jurisdictions.

Audit Coordination:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors for the preparation of statutory audits.
  • Coordinate with local teams and external auditors to facilitate the audit process.
  • Provide audit support, ensuring all necessary documentation is available and accurate.
  • Review audit results and manage any necessary corrections or adjustments.

Tax & Regulatory Compliance:

  • Support the preparation of local tax filings, including VAT, corporate tax returns, and transfer pricing documentation.
  • Liaise with tax advisors to ensure compliance with evolving local and international tax regulations.
  • Monitor changes in local tax laws and accounting standards across the EMEA region and ensure proper integration into financial reporting.
  • Internal Control & Process Improvement:
  • Ensure the implementation of robust internal controls in statutory reporting processes.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance in statutory reporting.
  • Support the finance team in maintaining consistency and accuracy in financial records.

Ad-Hoc Projects & Reporting:

  • Assist with special projects, including entity restructures, M&A activity, and other business transformations that impact statutory reporting.
  • Provide reporting support to senior management and corporate finance teams as needed.

Experience Required:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in statutory accounting or external audit, ideally within a multinational environment
Experience managing statutory reporting across multiple countries in the EMEA region
Strong knowledge of IFRS, local GAAPs, tax compliance, and statutory reporting requirements within the EMEA region
Experience with financial consolidation and group reporting
